Pat's Address and Recent Letter

Today we received Patrick's Address:

RN 314 PVT. Lynch, Patrick
ECO 2/54 INF
8775 Albanese Drive
FT. Benning, GA 31905

At this time Patrick is allowed to receive letters only. Please only write to him. He is not allowed to receive pictures or "care" packages of any sort. Patrick would love to hear from you, so please write to him. He can receive cards also, so send him something to make him smile!

The letter we received today:

In Patrick's last letter (dated 9/9/07) he wrote about how strong he is getting. He estimated in the past two days he has done over 300 push ups. He has been issued all sorts of gear such as his canteen, ammo belt, helmet, bulletproof head gear, and so forth. Most of hear gear weights over 50 pounds, and as Pat said in his letter "I think the next time you see me I'm going to be jacked!"

Patrick's buddy Seth (age 26 from Worcester, MA) was promoted to Platoon Guide. My understanding is this is the highest rank under Drill Sergeant in the student chain of command. Patrick flew down to Georgia with Seth.

Patrick wrote how he will be starting classes soon (he probably started this week, but due to the lag in postal mail, we can't confirm this). He thinks his first subject will be First Aid. On a scale of 1-5 Patrick is still rating his experience as a 3.
