Thanksgiving & Flag Ceremony
We did hear from Patrick on Thanksgiving. He was doing very well, and even had a turkey dinner with stuffing. However, the stuffing was dry and shaped as a bar. On Thanksgiving he was one of eight guys in charge or raising and lowering the flag during a ceremony that was held. Pat was very proud of being one of the men to do this, as he said the Governor was most likely going to be there, as well as all of the top Army guys. Hell Week will actually begin for Patrick on Monday (to see what Hell Week is, read previous post). Yesterday (Fri, Nov 23) was another PT test Patrick was going to take, and earlier this week he completed and passed his Eagle Run which was a five mile run that needed to be completed in 45 minutes. Patrick finished before the deadline time with minutes to spare. Patrick is excited to come home, and will be home for the holidays. We do not know of an exact date yet, as the military books all the flights. Patrick is asking that we do not mail any letters after Dec. 1st. He will be graduating on Dec 12, and does not know when they will cut off giving them mail. So if you would like to write to Pat again, please do so before Dec. 1st.
