Mail & Support Request!

Patrick has been in contact a few time since my last post. Not too much is really new, but the heat is starting to get to him. You can hear it in his voice that it is draining him. August is the hottest month of the year over there and temperatures are anywhere between 120 and 140 degrees! Patrick gets about 2 meals a day, depending on what his duty are for that day. There are days where he is in a tower, and during those shifts (I do not know how long they are) Patrick does not eat because his eyes are always watching something and he cannot be distracted. Patrick says he has lost some weight because of his eating and the heat. He would love getting some snacks, so if you would like to mail a package include some snacks that won't melt in the heat (remember all packages require a customs form, so make note of what you include!). He really enjoys getting fruit cups and individual powdered drink mixes (like the Crystal Lights-to-go), and protein bars (that aren't coated in chocolate). I wanted to let everyone know, if they have ever thought about writing, and haven't or need some motivation to mail again, this would be the time to do it! With the heat and Patrick's ever changing schedule (if he is lucky he will get in about 8 hours every week or two for himself - which mostly is sleeping, showering, eating, and email - unless of course he gets called out again, or has vehicle maintenance to do!). So please feel free to write or mail a package to him, I think it will bring up his spirits and help him get through the hottest month over there. Remember postage is only paid to New York, and most packages get delivered to Patrick in about a week's time!!! His address is listed on the right! Send him a funny card, or a hand written letter. He would really love to hear from everyone!! A regular first class stamp for a standard letter, or standard size card is all that is needed. And mailing boxes doesn't cost as much as you think. Today I mailed a 15 pound box for $11!! Send him something to let him know you are thinking of him, and support him. He loves hearing about life back home, so feel free to write what is new with you, about the weather, sports, news, anything! It all takes Pat's mind away from what he is dealing with for a few minutes, and reminds him of the tremendous support he has back at home!
