Patrick is doing well. The heat is still getting to him, and he is anxiously awaiting the end of August (and the hottest time of the year). When he called today he sounded very upbeat! He was excited that he got the opportunity to spend a few hours with family from home! I sent him a package a week ago full of food and snacks and he received that yesterday and was very happy to have it! He said he has been snacking all day and was looking forward to a bedtime snack before he tried to get some shut-eye. Packages, cards, and letters really bring up Patrick's spirits. In about 2 1/2 or 3 months Patrick should be home for his mid-tour leave. He has been concerned that he has lost a lot of weight, and we are trying to bulk him back up, not only for him, but for his trip home as well. I am sure he would love hearing from everyone. So if you have a few moments to spare, send him a funny card, a letter, or a box of goodies! It would mean the world to him!
