Patrick has now moved to a new location. This new location is a location he has visited in his weekly rotation. However, this location was the location Patrick disliked going to whenever it was that time during his rotation. This location has Air Conditioning in limited areas, and Patrick rarely goes into these areas. He is pretty much in a big room with no privacy with the rest of his company. Patrick also has much more limited internet access, and his access, and message size is also limited. Patrick has much less time now on the computer as well. So as he may have a chance to read your messages, he may not have the opportunity to write back. If he does write back, do not be surprised if it is only a small paragraph. Patrick has already learned the hard way if he writes too much and tries to send an email it will get erased, leaving him to start from the beginning. Patrick is enjoying all the snacks that have been sent to him recently, and he has been packing them with him when he goes out on missions. This really helps bring up his spirits. At his new location he is getting two meals a day, which is more regular than his meals have been in the past. The temperature is starting to go down, and the nights are getting cooler. When Patrick is able to sleep in a room with AC he says it gets too cold at night now, but other nights just sleeping with windows open and a fan seem best. Because of the change in the temperature Pat is drinking less water then he needed before when he was out on patrols.
Last week, Sunday September 28th, Patrick’s brother Mike had a football game. Mike plays for the Minnechaug Falcon’s Varsity High School football team as a wide receiver, a defensive back, and a kick returner (Mike is in for pretty much the entire game). At the beginning of the season Mike wanted his first touchdown to be dedicated to his brother Patrick. Mike got his first touchdown last week, and Patrick was very happy to hear Mike dedicated it to him. That was very exciting for our family. The frosting on the cake came last night, Friday October 3rd when Mike played an away game in Agawam and scored two touchdowns. At the end of the game the coach gets all the players and the family’s on the field to talk about the game. After every game the coach let’s the players vote on who should receive the game ball for the game. This week - a player did not receive the game ball. The team started chanting “Pat Lynch, Pat Lynch, Pat Lynch.” The coach then tossed Mike the game ball and said this is for your brother serving in Iraq. Mike then got interviewed by News 40, and also by The Republican (our daily paper). Here is a link to the article in The Republican as it mentions both Patrick and Michael in it.

So the support still continues, and our family can’t thank everyone enough for it. Patrick gets a little down in the dumps sometimes when he is missing events at home, and because of what he is dealing with over there. We are asking for continued support. Letters, emails, packages - anything that will remind Patrick we are here for him, and how much we care. It really brings Patrick’s spirits up and helps him get through his tour. Hopefully we will find out in the next month when Patrick is coming home for his mid tour leave. We are still expecting him home sometime in November, but we are not sure if his entire stay will be in November, or if it will also roll into December.
